FAQ
How is the sale price calculated?
Original price × (1 - discount/100). A 20% discount on $100 is $100 × 0.8 = $80.
How do I find the discount percentage?
(Original - Sale) ÷ Original × 100. If $100 drops to $80, that's (100-80)/100 × 100 = 20% off.
How do stacked discounts work?
They apply sequentially. 20% then an extra 10% is 0.8 × 0.9 = 0.72, meaning 28% off — not 30%.

How Discounts Work

The sale price is the original price minus the discount amount, where the discount equals original price × discount rate ÷ 100.

This calculator works both ways: find the final price from a discount percentage, or find the discount percentage from original and sale prices. Perfect for quick shopping decisions.
