Monitor Size & PPI Calculator
Inches measure only the diagonal — aspect ratio is separate, though the market has standardized on 16:9 for 24–32", 21:9 for 34", and 32:9 for 49". Calculate width and height, dual-setup desk width, and pixel density (PPI) for any resolution.
FAQ
Does a bigger monitor mean a different aspect ratio?
No. Inches measure the diagonal only. In practice, 24–32 inch monitors are 16:9, 34 inch are 21:9 ultrawide, and 49 inch are 32:9.
How much desk width do dual monitors need?
Screen width × 2 plus 1–2 inches for bezels and stand angles. Dual 27-inch screens span about 47 inches (119.5 cm); a 50-inch desk is comfortable.
What is a good PPI?
90–110 PPI is comfortable at 100% scaling for office work. 140+ is sharper but usually needs 125–150% OS scaling; 200+ is Retina-class.
