Paint Calculator

Paint liters and cans from area and coats

Paint Calculator 🎨
Enter the area and number of coats to calculate the paint needed (liters) and number of cans.
Wall length × height
Area per liter. Usually 8-12 m²
Per can. e.g. 1, 4, 18 L

FAQ
How is paint amount calculated?
Area (m²) × coats ÷ coverage (m²/L) gives liters. For example, 40 m², 2 coats, 10 m²/L = 40×2÷10 = 8 L. Add ~10% waste.
How do I know the coverage?
It's on the product spec sheet, usually 8-12 m² per liter. Rough or absorbent surfaces reduce coverage.
How many coats?
Two coats is standard. Use three over dark colors or new walls.
How do I measure area?
Wall = length × height. For a room, use perimeter × height minus doors and windows. Ceiling = length × width.
Why a waste margin?
For touch-ups, spillage, and uneven absorption. 10% is typical.
