What areas does this cover?
This tool uses NOAA tide data, which covers US coasts, the Great Lakes, and US territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, etc.) only. It does not provide tide data for other countries.
What are high and low tide?
High tide is when water reaches its highest point; low tide its lowest. Most US coasts have two of each per day.
What does the height mean?
Height in feet relative to MLLW (Mean Lower Low Water), the standard US tidal datum. Higher numbers mean higher water.
How accurate is it?
NOAA tide predictions are accurate to within about 6 minutes and 0.1 m. They are astronomical predictions and do not include weather effects like storm surge.
