FAQ
What does a discomfort index of 80 mean?
At 80 or above, nearly everyone feels uncomfortable — typical of hot, humid summer afternoons around 30°C (86°F) with 70%+ humidity. Cooling or dehumidifying is recommended.
Discomfort index vs heat index?
The discomfort index is a unitless comfort score, while the heat index expresses a feels-like temperature in degrees. Both combine heat and humidity; the heat index is more common in the US, THI in East Asia.
